Ambition
My primary ambition each year is to obtain an investment return of at least 20% above inflation. With RPI currency running at 4.9%, this equates at present to a return of at least 24.9%. This level of return is not a target, but if offered as an indication of the level of inefficiencies within financial markets and the ability of my investment process to exploit these inefficiencies. Moreover, the returns I have obtained over the past 10 years are reflective of the expectation of this level of return (see performance page).
At present, I am a private investor however going forward I intend to establish a FSC licensed Isle of Man fund management organization* which offers both managed accounts (see post What are managed accounts?) for individuals or companies, SIPP/SASS management and a collective off-shore fund offering. The proposed charging structure for all these offerings will be 10% of all profits over UK base rate, i.e. we charge approximately 10% of the returns we generate over the return available on a bank deposit.
